Gratitude Sunday * June 3, 2012

~ I’m once again joining Taryn over at Wooly Moss Roots in her Gratitude Sunday tradition. ~

Gratitude Sunday is a time to slow down and remember those thankful moments that graced our week. One reason I love keeping a daily gratitude journal is because it helps keep things in perspective for me. Each Sunday, I open my journal and share some of those moments with you here. If you’d like to join in, just leave a comment!

Gratitude is powerful energy. I love hearing others’ gratitudes!

– Gorgeous, delicious, organic fruit on sale at the store; seems like I just can’t get enough fruit right now.

– My Honey, F. I love him so much!!

– My wonderful parents and my cat. I love them all so much!!

– Getting back to reading more of the Anastasia series, bits and pieces, here and there… feels good.

– A week of no moneymaking work; the break was very nice.

– The long-time family friends who live in Hawaii who so generously offered that F and I house-sit while they travel!! We will be in Hawaii next week at this time, and I still can’t believe it’s real! I am so thankful for this vacation, and can’t wait to just hang out in nature, close to my Honey, and away from the city and all the demands of home and work.

– Getting lots of errands done, and not having to think about them any more.

– Creating a slow, relaxing, heartful day because the pace lately has been really frenzied and stressed. Is it the celestial energies, or just me – I don’t know? Maybe it’s the antibiotics — they can make me feel awfully strange. To boot, I’ve been feeling uneasy and quite ‘off’ at times lately too. Crazy times. Anyway, the slow, grounding pace really helped.

– Being outside a lot lately. When I feel ‘off’ and things weigh so heavily upon my mind, I practically need to live outside. It’s just the way it is for me. I’m thankful the weather has been so nice for doing just that!!

– Reading the book “Still Here” by Ram Dass. I really liked it.

– The nourishing food that’s coming straight from my garden. The growing of it, and the eating of it, are two very life-sustaining, life-enhancing activities! I love my garden.

– Stopping at a lemonade stand yesterday. I remember doing a lemonade stand with my best friend Sonja when we were little, and I remember the excitement of having a customer! And it actually brightened my day so much to interact with the three sweet little kids (maybe 5 or 6 years old) who were running the stand. I very rarely interact directly with kids — I see them in the stores of course, but since I don’t babysit anymore, I don’t have any opportunity to interact with them, really. Kids are so pure; they hold no pretenses. It was a joy to hang out and talk with them even for just a couple minutes.

– Working in the garden all day Sunday, and getting so much done, and my body not even complaining about it at all; I felt so good, so normal. It was a really good day.

    Hello Lindsey,
Your lists are always a gift to read!
Your fruit picture makes me hungry!! I can’t seem to get enough fruit lately either.
So happy for you for your Hawaii trip next week! You deserve it. Enjoy. 🙂

I know what you mean about the frenzied and stressed feelings. Being outside helps me so much too.

I love what you wrote about the lemonade stand.

    Love, Taryn

It does seem like the energies around have been a bit chaotic. I have also been asking myself whether it was just me. Yesterday, though, I noticed that there were many moments for me and for other people where things got stuck and we had to slow down our pace or rethink the situation.

I just finished reading “The Only Dance There Is” by Ram Dass. I love they way he tells about his experiences. I’ll have to check out “Still Here”. I am also re-reading several books by Ekhart Tolle. I’m so grateful for authors who can relate their thoughts and experiences in such a truthful, compassionate way.

Yay to fresh organic fruit! Soooo yummy. And Yay to you and F getting a vacation in Hawaii! Time to drink in the beauty of nature. I’m so excited for you! Hugs to you both. 🙂

Wonderful to hear from you Deb! Glad the energies are weird there too, hehe, and that it may not just be me! I will have to check out The Only Dance There Is. I really love how Ram Dass retells his experiences too.
Heaps of hugs to you & the fam!!!

    Love
    Lindsey

Really really good list this week–you’re sounding so happy and excited. I, too, try to keep a slower pace but it is a challenge. Taking time to stop at a lemonade stand is proof of a slower pace and is so rewarding! 🙂 much love <3<3
