Gratitude Sunday * June 3, 2012

~ I’m once again joining Taryn over at Wooly Moss Roots in her Gratitude Sunday tradition. ~

Gratitude Sunday is a time to slow down and remember those thankful moments that graced our week. One reason I love keeping a daily gratitude journal is because it helps keep things in perspective for me. Each Sunday, I open my journal and share some of those moments with you here. If you’d like to join in, just leave a comment!

Gratitude is powerful energy. I love hearing others’ gratitudes!

– Gorgeous, delicious, organic fruit on sale at the store; seems like I just can’t get enough fruit right now.

– My Honey, F. I love him so much!!

– My wonderful parents and my cat. I love them all so much!!

– Getting back to reading more of the Anastasia series, bits and pieces, here and there… feels good.

– A week of no moneymaking work; the break was very nice.

– The long-time family friends who live in Hawaii who so generously offered that F and I house-sit while they travel!! We will be in Hawaii next week at this time, and I still can’t believe it’s real! I am so thankful for this vacation, and can’t wait to just hang out in nature, close to my Honey, and away from the city and all the demands of home and work.

– Getting lots of errands done, and not having to think about them any more.

– Creating a slow, relaxing, heartful day because the pace lately has been really frenzied and stressed. Is it the celestial energies, or just me – I don’t know? Maybe it’s the antibiotics — they can make me feel awfully strange. To boot, I’ve been feeling uneasy and quite ‘off’ at times lately too. Crazy times. Anyway, the slow, grounding pace really helped.

– Being outside a lot lately. When I feel ‘off’ and things weigh so heavily upon my mind, I practically need to live outside. It’s just the way it is for me. I’m thankful the weather has been so nice for doing just that!!

– Reading the book “Still Here” by Ram Dass. I really liked it.

– The nourishing food that’s coming straight from my garden. The growing of it, and the eating of it, are two very life-sustaining, life-enhancing activities! I love my garden.

– Stopping at a lemonade stand yesterday. I remember doing a lemonade stand with my best friend Sonja when we were little, and I remember the excitement of having a customer! And it actually brightened my day so much to interact with the three sweet little kids (maybe 5 or 6 years old) who were running the stand. I very rarely interact directly with kids — I see them in the stores of course, but since I don’t babysit anymore, I don’t have any opportunity to interact with them, really. Kids are so pure; they hold no pretenses. It was a joy to hang out and talk with them even for just a couple minutes.

– Working in the garden all day Sunday, and getting so much done, and my body not even complaining about it at all; I felt so good, so normal. It was a really good day.

What gratitudes have graced your week?

Quiet moments

When life gets too crazy, quiet moments do ground us back to earth. But quiet moments will rarely search us out, I find. They inhabit the shadows; if we’d like to have the grace of their presence, we must intend them. We must initiate them. We must arrange the time and the space…to bring them forth.

**May you engineer some wonderfully quiet moments for yourself this weekend!!**
